Lofts Vistalegre Cerro Alegre

This property was OK... some good and some bad parts. Though I booked Apt A2, the owner let me know a few weeks ahead of time that we would be in Apt A13 due to maintenance issues in Apt A2. The good: 1) The gentleman who checked us in was great! Very friendly and happy to share recommendations. He met us earlier than we said we would be there, and he took time to tell us about the area. The bottle of wine was also very appreciated. :) 2) Location was good -- easy walk to the most popular areas, great views. The bad: 1) The apartment was not very clean, and it was quite worn. 2) We had a significant leak from an upstairs showers -- water was pouring down the stairs on to the 1st floor, and both the stairs and a big part of the 1st floor were flooded. The person we made the reservation through was very prompt in coming to check it out, but it was (obviously!) not something they could fix. It was clear that this was not a new issues since the entire apartment smelled very musty when we first entered, and there was obvious previous water damage along the stairs. We ended up using a different bathroom to shower, but the bathroom had only a half glass shower door (not uncommon here) so we ended up with a lot of water on the floor in the bathroom. 3) There was miscommunication about how to pay (probably partially my fault) and I missed my chance to pay cash and avoid the VAT. I paid via credit card after my stay and was required to pay the 19% VAT.

Great responsiveness and patience from our hosts and that is not the best part. The apartment is beautifully appointed in the manner of this very artful neighborhood. The kitchen was outstandingly equipped, great living room with a wall of glass that opened the apartment to view of the sea.

Localizado na parte alta de Valparaíso, o edifício é relativamente novo e o apto muito bem mobiliado e equipado. O funcionário que entregou as chaves foi atencioso. Como boas vindas recebemos uma garrafa de espumante, o que foi uma agradável surpresa. No bairro existem pequenos mercados e vários restaurantes e cafés (tudo para ser conhecido a pé). O prédio conta com garagem, com custo adicional. Vale muito ficar algumas noites neste loft (ficamos 2 noites), desfrutar da hospedagem (escolhemos apto com sacada e vista mar) e conhecer a região.
