Zen Lofts

When I first saw the building I was skeptics but once inside very pleasantly surprised. The suite was on the second floor. Very nicely appointed and cosy. Very comfortable bed and duvet. Sarah who manages the units was extremely nice and accommodating. Thank you Sarah. The housekeeper and fellow who exchanged my remote control were both wonderful. All in all I would stay there again. I was in Calgary for a celebration of life for my best girlfriend. Our BC friend was staying one floor below.

Really great area walking distance to lots of great restaurants. Rooms are always nice and clean.

Zen Lofts is an older renovated small apartment building. I rented a studio unit. The room was ok but having said that it was showing signs of neglect. I never actually met any staff or personal there and all contact was email and text only. I received the wrong door access codes so when I arrived I was locked out. The people in the unit next to me experienced the same thing. I called the help number and there was no answer and the voice mailbox was full. Later when We finally gained access to the rooms my room was fine but the unit next to me had not been cleaned since the previous occupants. In short I would not stay there again. Their business model of running a hotel by text and email is clearly not effective and is problematic for the guests. Also I should parking is very limited so be prepared.

This was an apartment with a separate bedroom, living room and full kitchen. All kitchen utensils were provided including pots and pans and silverware. The only problem I had is there is no place to check in and all the doors were locked. They did e-mail the code for the front door and the unit, but I was already in route when the e-mailed it and could not get in the first day. Make sure you get the coders before you leave for your trip.

The guest service from Sarah was amazing. She told me there was a plumbing issue with the suite I booked and upgraded me to another. Any text messages I sent were answered within 1 -2 minutes. Great service! The other suite was nice, and the only issue was it stunk of cigarette smoke. I did not think I needed to specifically ask for a non-smoking suite, but next time I will. I would definitely stay here again.
