Modica Beach Resort

Fabulous hotel, breakfast and pool. Staff were very courteous. The pool and restaurant is across the road from the hotel. Also the beach sun beds when booking through Hotels.com were not included in the price, so we were charged extra for these. Lovely sandy beach and only 10 min walk along the beach into the little town.

I stayed there for 5 days for a business retreat with about 100 people from my company. The location is really nice. The resort is new. Everything looks beautiful. However, the beds were hard. I requested a room with a queen bed, but got a room with 3 twin beds instead. The walls were thin - I could clearly hear every word said by the people in the rooms next to mine. The water temperature would fluctuate between ideal, to cold, to scalding hot without me having to touch the knob. The hot water is not set up to have 50+ people showering at about the same time of day. The restaurant was not creative - the food was the same everyday. They are not good at accommodating dietary restrictions. I would not go back.

This will be a really great Hotel once it gets up and running and the rest of the area gets a bit of an uplift. I was disappointed that the gym and spa were not yet open and service on the beach hadn’t started despite my emailing to ask them if everything would be finished. There was also a fair amount of building works still going on which ruined the ambience quite a bit. Also the pool looks nothing like the pictures. That said it’s clean, modern and comfortable and located on a really nice beach.
