The Castle Inn

We had a lovely stay here on our way home from Scotland. The staff were friendly and the room very comfortable. Our evening meal was well cooked and presented. I chose the lamb and this was nice and tender. Breakfast in the morning was also well cooked and generous. There was only one tiny minus and that was the fact that they had outside tables under the room windows. Of course as it was a lovely warm evening people were using these and sitting smoking, unfortunately, this meant that we got smoke in our room as we had the window wide due to the heat otherwise I couldn't fault the hotel.

Room was way too hot with a very noisy fan.... guests shouting in the middle of the night and then in the morning meant no sleep.... the food was massively over priced and not good.... lovely beer on draught. Would not stay again and would def not recommend.

The Castle Inn is a busy pub/restaurant/hotel just off the roundabout of a busy main road. I had the Balmoral room which is a lovely spacious room with a really comfortable bed. Unfortunately it faced straight onto the busy main road which didn't stop till around 11pm. The room had no air conditioning, so it was necessary to sleep with the window open. It had a modern en-suite with an excellent hot shower. The excellent breakfast was included in the price and you have a good choice of cooked things, especially poached eggs. The cleanliness of the restaurant, cutlery and crockery left a little to be desired. The restaurant is deliberately a little shabby but there is no excuse for not washing up properly.

Food and service was great. As was the room - would definitely return for business or a weekend away!

A really friendly hotel between Wetherby and Harrogate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back
