Lovely hotel, great location, but the way we were treated when checking out left a very bad last impression/feeling when we left. We stayed here for 2 nights, and requested a room at the back of the hotel. This request was not fulfilled. This is understandable if the hotel is fully booked, so we just accepted this. We said upon arrival that we would stay 2 rather than 3 nights because of a family situation which had arisen. The receptionist said he would ask his manager to give us a discount/part refund for the 3rd night. When we checked out, the lady at the reception did not inform us about this but just told us to give her our creditcard and threw the invoice at us. We had to ask and she very rudely said “No”. Perhaps “I am sorry, we cannot do this because.....” would have been less rude? Then, after checking us out, we asked about the garage, and paid for this. She did not even ask whether we had a car in the garage. Then suddenly, she realised we still had an invoice from the bar for 5 drinks open and told us to pay this separately, because she had forgotten about this. If we hadn’t asked about the garage, she probably would have forgotten. Also, as a gesture, it would have been more polite to offer us the drinks and/or parking for free as a compensation for the 3rd night. The receptionist was incredibly rude and not smiling for one moment during the whole process (the receptionist who checked us in, a guy, was really nice and polite, though, and the complete opposite!).
