The stay was normal until I had breakfast, for which I had previously paid, and I had to pay for it again because they did not take responsibility for the Orbitz sale.

Great hotel
We stayed at Kimpton during the hurricane Beryl and we felt safe and well informed by the staff all the time. The hotel has really great facilities and the interior is awesome. Food was good too. We can recommend Kimpton for a few days stay.

The Kimpton Aluna was a great place to stay near the beaches and DT Tulum. Rooms are spotless and friendly for the price. The food here was delicious. They also have a social hour every day with free drinks and food. Helpful staff that will help you reserve excursions or restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place. FYI, the area around it is under construction, so it might feel a bit undone. I'm sure in a few years this area will transform.

Traveling with your large dog!
Love this place! Even offered to make dinner for our dog. When we got to room a dog bed and food/water dishes there and they sparkled!

This hotel property is gorgeous, with 2 open-air buildings, lush greenery and a beautiful ground floor pool with a swim up bar. The staff is extra helpful and I appreciated the welcoming ceremony upon arrival. However, the area isn’t the safest (compared to the previous hotel I stayed at about 10-15 mins away) because my kids and I were advised to “be back before dark” when we walked to nearby Carls Jr. for dinner one evening. Also my iPad was pickpocketed from my bag while waiting for the tour van to arrive at a nearby supermarket.
There were other things within the hotel itself that were less than satisfactory — there were two cockroaches (I think they were cockroaches in my room), one in the shower and one on the floor (only got a pic of the one on the floor). Also there were a lot of leaves in the pool as if it wasn’t cleaned often.
Other than that, everyone at the hotel is extremely nice. The food is amazing! (But expensive) Beware of the “resort fees”—something I didn’t see or wasn’t clearly mentioned when booking on Expedia.

The hotel was really nice and quiet. The rooms are a nice size and bed was comfortable. Love the shower. Had a king bed with balcony which was nice. Tulum is still doing a lot of construction and the area is within a walking distance to food, store and restaurant about a 10-15 minute or you can ride the bike.

Our stay at Kimpron Aluna was just perfect for our little family. Modern, clean, cute, super friendly staff especially the General Manager Jorge and centrally located for getting to the town center, beaches and local sightseeing. If you don’t need the beach and are travelling with kids this is highly recommended!

Nice pretty average hotel
It’s a nice, pretty average hotel. No complains overall. No major excitement. It was a bit slow when we stayed there.

Ridiculous food prices, and the food is not good
The food prices were ridiculous. I ordered just a plain small hamburger patty for my dog and they charged me $24. That was American dollars and not Mexican pesos. And that didn’t include the tip.

Be careful of "resort fees"!!
Great place, but has enormous "resort fees" that didn't appear in what I thought I would be paying. Price went from $150/night to $250/night by the time those were added in. Be careful!
