Underwhelmed
The parking situation was horrendous. There literally were not enough spots on the property. We did not arrive until 10:30pm and then had drive around the block in circles for 30 minutes looking for a spot. Had to park several blocks away. Front desk was not helpful and just said “lot is full.” The fitness center was missing plugs to the machines. The blinds also came off the wall. No trash cans, not enough toilet paper in the room. 1 roll for an entire weekend is not enough. Wall thermostat was broken. The elevators did malfunction and we were stuck for a few minutes. We had reserved a river view and were given a street view. The list goes on.

Found my new goto for Newark
It was a 1 night stay as i was passing thru town and wanted to spend the evening with my daugther as i’ve done at previous other Newark hotels Tim was working the front desk and was so pleasant and easy going. The bartender had the night off but Tim had Coronas in the shop which he held in the office fridge while i watched the game in the bar. He wasnt just nice (and professional) to me, as i sat at the bar i overheard him being the same lovely welcomer to other visitors to the hotel. Hotel itself is clean and pleasant. Only detraction is location next to a trainline. So if you are light sleeper make sure you dont have room 334 or similar (closest to the rail). At the other end of the building you cant hear it. My kid and i are heavy sleepers so not a problem for us. Beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows & blankets. Plus the friendliness of all the staff just made the stay a pleasure all around. speedway gas station next door for quick grabs. Fab diner about 6 min walk away. harrison Path station is about 10 min walk away. Indoor Pool and workout facilities are fabulous.
