My stay in this absolutely charming bed-and-breakfast built in 1856 was such a refreshing change from the many hotels I’ve stayed in my travels. The proprietor takes great care in giving all of her guests her personal attention. Top marks!

Ragland Mansion was a very large private home begun in 1850 and completed in 1856. After many years of various uses including apartments it was restored to close to original and made into a comfortable B&B. Claudia, the Innkeeper, is fantastic. She runs the show and makes sure the breakfast you order appears at your table at exactly the right time. She knows the area and is gifted with the perfect disposition for hospitality.

Our gracious host Claudia greeted us at the door and showed us around her wonderfully-restored 1850s Italianate-style house (which she and her mother restored). The house is elegant and rooms are spotless. In the morning, Claudia serves breakfast in one of the beautiful rooms of your choice. A wonderful house and highly recommended as a B&B stop.
