Palau is a town in the Sardinia region of Italy that was founded in 1875 and is home to historic ruins, scenic natural wonders, beaches and adventure for the entire family. When it comes to beaches, Palau offers lots of different experiences. Families can relax in the sun, soft sand and surf at the white-sand beaches of Spiaggia Porto Liscia, Spiaggia di Costa Serena, Spiaggia di Vena Longa or Spiaggia di Nelson. Forested island beaches can be found at Spiaggia de La Sciumara and Spiaggia di Punta Cardinalino.

At the Punta Palau Lighthouse, you are able to explore a rocky coast with a historic lighthouse and find spectacular photo opportunities. At La Fortezza di Monte Altura stands an ancient military fortification that was built in the 19th century and used in both World Wars but never attacked. Island hopping is also an option at places like Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena or Santo Stefano with its 18th-century fortress.
