Reno’s in progress and poor customer service
Reserved this hotel on a family trip for website citing an outdoor area with fire pit and new renovations and pool. They are in middle of renovations for sure. Only one floor is done. Fire pit and outdoor area non-functional. Pool dirty. Grass overgrown. I even asked about the fire pit at check-in and how much I was looking forward to relaxing around it. The front desk attendant just said yeah, it’s really nice out there.
Breakfast was pitiful, no waffles. Juices so sour and concentrated as to be inedible.
Then the real deal breaker. On our way to checkout, we got stuck in the elevator. Just stopped between floors. Tried using emergency phone and alarm with just a few mumbles thru speaker. Luckily, two housekeepers were on elevator with us and were about to call front desk and get help started. They were the saving grace. (Kudos to Ariel!) Still had to wait in a tiny hot elevator with 7 people, including a 4 year old, for firemen and staff to hunt keys and get us out. Lights even went out once and elevator would start and stop with jerks a few times. Unsure if it was going to fall or what? Finally the firemen got us out on 3rd floor and we had to carry our luggage down 3 floors. My 83 year old mother, who just had a hip replacement, had to climb down all the stairs. We checked out and spoke to front desk about possible discount or refund and they just laughed and asked if we wanted a receipt.
Renovations look like they’ll be nice when finished but not yet.
