Ask for a low floor!!
Compliments to the staff that have to put up with a lot of complaints. It’s a 36 story hotel with 2 elevators, one of which is out of order more than half the time. We were on the 21st floor and it took 20 minutes to get to the ground floor. We were lucky that we never had to walk up.
The rooms were small and old. It’s nicely located on 39th between 8th and 9th, but there are some suspicious characters hanging around at night. This is what you get for $450 a night in midtown Manhattan these days.

Don’t book here !
Was absolute embarrassed I booked this hotel for my family trip ! Beds were aweful , roach fell in my daughters breakfast from ceiling !furniture in room was tore up. Someone knocked on my door asking me to stop shower due to flood in lobby. The hotel only has 2 elevators and 1 was down frequently. We were stuck in 17 th floor with all our luggage. Horrible

The management of the hotel doesn’t care about the quality of the beds
We have to requested to move in 3 different rooms due to the bad conditions on mattress
One of the rooms have fleas and chins bug

The elevators are too old…

Due to the elevator was stuck on 12/1/24
No body was able to rescue until the paramedics arrived.

My experience at Holiday Inn Express
The entire stay was good. I liked having breakfast included in the price of the room.
All staff was friendly and helpful.
The only part that was not good for me was being stuck in the elevator (1 time) with about 10 people in it. The elevator went to the lowest floor and the door would not open. Thank goodness someone was on that bottom floor. We were stuck in there for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. The door had to be pried open. There was no phone for emergencies in the elevator and our cell phones had no signal for us to call the front desk. Again, I am glad there were people on that lowest floor.
Otherwise, all was good.

Hotel.com cancelled my reservation as a cash grab
It started as soon as I got there the manager told me that hotels.com had cancelled my reservation as of 12 PM day of. Hotels.com did not have the decency to email or call me to tell me there was a problem with my booking but instead chose to just cancel my reservation so that I had to rebook it with them again at a higher rate which is complete utter garbage. they tried to take money for the first night without notifying me although I said I was going to pay at the location. They try to say that my credit card didn’t go through or wasn’t working when no transaction went through and they were doing it a day in advance. (Which was NOT detailed on the confirmation) I only got an email saying that my room was cancelled on the day reservation when I was already at the hotel, very disappointed with Hotels.com. I’ll do Michelle manager at the time rebooked my room at the same fee. I was appalled that Hotels.com try to make me rebook on their site for double the price. Just put me in a foul mood and not only was my hotel shower with low pressure but also no hot water Michelle accommodated for the first night stay and also validated my parking for the night as a courtesy but could not get a new room and we could not get water pressure.

Typical New York accommodations meaning that the room was cramped. Located a few blocks from Times Square and on a not so busy street. No microwave in the room and bad TV reception.
