Decent place to stay. Definitely no frills.
There was never anyone at the front desk to help. I always had to ring for service.
Housekeeping came to my door once during my 3 night stay. I told her I was getting ready to leave so she offered to come back in a little while. She never came back that day or any other day I was there. I had to empty my own trash and get my own refills. Having a coffee pot in the room was great; However, there was no cream, sugar or stirring sticks. I had to go down to the lobby myself for that stuff. Other than that, it was comfortable and quiet.

average hotel, but no real other options
Poor customer service. Stuck me in a smoking room and when I asked to be moved, they refused even though the hotel had plenty of other open rooms.

Very nice hotel in Montevideo, MN
Very nice hotel. My only negative comment would be that there is only a long staircase to the second floor. Having just had knee surgery and a broken arm, it was difficult to get up the stairs carrying a heavy suitcase. The front desk clerk offered to carry my suitcase upstairs for me, which was great! I did arrive after dark, the hotel is off the highway on the service road and the hotel's sign is not obvious. Thank heavens for my phone's directions to the hotel.

I prepaid for two nights. The room was not cleaned AT ALL! The room key was cancelled causing extra trips to the desk. The carpets and floors in the halls were grubby. Not an experience I care to repeat!

Don't leave the AC blasting before guests arrive. The room felt like a meat locker.

Good Place to Stay
This is a nice hotel with a pool. Breakfast included. The beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. The pool and hot tub were clean & warm.
Price was right if you call and book on your own. Overall this was a good place to stay.

Smoking Rooms For Online Bookers
I booked this room online and failed to read that the reservation system had volunteered me for a smoking room. In the three page printout it said "smoking room" in 2 small places so I'm to blame for not reading more closely. The front desk employee though told me that people who book online (at least with his property) are given the smoking rooms by default. I don't smoke and would think in this day and age that if a hotel had a smoking room at all that you would have to ask for it. I suppose I'm lucky that Crossings by Grand Stay doesn't offer rooms with kimono dragons as an option. That might have been a real surprise .

Quiet hotel
We had some issues at check-in, not realizing that Expedia only offers smoking rooms here. However, we worked those out & got into a non-smoking room. Room was very typical of a chain hotel. Clean, good bathroom, adequate beds. The pool and hot tub were above average and we had them to ourselves. Breakfast was above average as well. We would stay here again.

Consistently a good night's sleep
I like this place! When I have business in the area, I call the Crossings and only the Crossings. If they're booked, I change my travel days. The one ding? Smokers-- man, stale smoke smell permeates one whole wing of the property.

Over all a comfortable stay. The room was very clean. Comfortable bed, wifi, large flat screen tv w/ cable. Breakfast marginal but ok. We will stay here again in the future.
