Having spent a reasonable amount on our room, we were rather disappointed by the lack of space and how outdated it was (nothing like the photos advertising that type of room so presumably it's pot luck with what quality room you get).
The mattress seemed not quite right on one side of the bed (feeling like it almost entirely disappeared when laid on) leading to a fairly rubbish night of sleep, there was quite a lot of noise from the high street, and our bathroom was not only incredibly small but also looking rather worse for wear in places.
Having checked out at 10:30, we were told breakfast had finished at 10. My fault for not double checking the details in the room but the large sign advertising breakfast served until 11am meant I didn't feel the need to. Evidently breakfast stops at 10am for "residents" and 11am for "walk ins" or so I was told when I queried this. I was also informed they were 2 chefs down due to illness & when I said I was glad I hadn't pre-booked the breakfast as a result, I was told they would have honoured it had we done so. Seems very conflicting.
Parking is almost non existent, and trying to park in the nearby proved quite difficult due to how busy it was in the area when we arrived.
It was a shame as our time at an event in the ballroom the previous evening had been fabulous, with incredibly lovely bar staff and great service, as well as an array of delicious food served. We are not likely to return for another stay though.
