Not the best of rooms, not the worst of rooms
This hotel was not up to the usual quality of this chain. On the positives the staff were excellent, the breakfast was good and well stocked, the bed was comfortable.
However the room was beat up. Marks all over the walls, peeling paint, worn out carpet, beat up furnishings. At first I couldn't tell if it was dirty or just looked dirty because of the poor condition but on closer inspection it was kinda dirty in the room. I am by no means super judgy about this so if I noticed it's not good. The lobby and community areas did appear cleaner. The hotel was also very loud. There were what appeared to be kids sports teams in the hotel lacking any adult supervision. They were beating on the service bell at the desk, yelling and running around. Finally around 1 am an adult came and got them. I got the impression teams come to this hotel a lot and act up. The security deposit on the credit card was double what it is at other hotels I have stayed at and the clerk indicated the kids trashing the rooms is why they put that in place.
It doesn't list this on the room amenities but the room did have a microwave.
