This hotel is well located near Copacabana Beach. Not really at the beach but a few streets further away on a corner. This should have been one of my favorite stays as they pretend to have 5 stars.
Here are the issues I experienced a few days ago:
Check in asked for the original pasports. After travelling weeks in Brazil they were the only one asking for thid and we had to open our lugagr to find it. We always give copies as all hotels advise us to do so. Overall the staf was friendly and breakfast just ok.
But this hotel has also other issues:
- electricity will go down several times a day. Meaning: no light, no airconditioning, no visibility at night, your phone or other electronical devices will not be charged, no phone possible to the reception, no internet or wifi, hot fridge, super hot room, no warm water, ... the thing is also that during the night service they do not speak English so no clear explanation. And it happened several times for hours. If you have to got to the airport you will be soaled in sweat with no usable phone.
They did apologise but you can see fron hhe reaction it is a common problem.
No compensation neither. I asked for the manager but this took 4 attemps as they pretended not to hear me. Well this makes the stars also in a hotel: how to deal with problems! And how to compensate or in money or in giving at least a drink. Nothing. The manager just came outside while we are heading to the airport. He promised me to mail me: nothing.
