Hotel staff from a different planet
My wife and I were travelling with two children (10 and 7) and had reserved two rooms. I, as the reserving party, was not present when my wife checked in. She could only get one room and not both rooms 'because the reserving guest was not present'. She could also not buy a breakfast voucher for me 'because the reserving guest was not present'. She could buy one for herself and the children. Language could not have been the problem since my wife is Japanese. Expedia had confirmed the reseveration as two rooms with double beds. The rooms had beds which were 1.50 - 1.60 meters wide (ref photo) and when checking at the reception they confirmed that these were indeed double beds. There was one pair of slippers, one towel set, one toothbrush in both rooms. Rather remarkable. Breakfast time is only until 09:00, rather early and we were not warned by the staff when buying the vouchers (I had to wait until my checking). When found out at 09:15 that we were too late we called the reception and could not have breakfast any more, neither could we get our vouchers refunded. When we came down 5 minutes later the breakfast area was still rather full with all the entire buffet still in place. Eventually, we did get the vouchers refunded. The only plus was a nice Japanese style bath on the top floor. To be avoided.
