I gave Garden Inn 2 stars instead of 1 only because the manager and housekeeping staff were nice, and it was a good location.
Upon my arrival, I discovered my room had two washcloths (one was dirty), two bath towels, and no hand towels or drinking cups. Housekeeping staff nicely brought me hand towels, a clean washcloth, and cups.
There was a single towel bar in the bathroom that wasn't even wide enough to hold the two bath towels without them overlapping. There was no place at all to hang the hand towels; not in the bathroom, nor around the sink area.
The most bizarre thing was that the shower, with nice 2" square tiles, had NO place to put a bar of soap or bottle of shampoo. I had to place mine on the floor of the shower or outside the shower curtain on the ledge between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. How could the designers or construction folks leave out some sort of built-in soap dish and a ledge of some type to put a bottle of shampoo on?!
On the morning of my third day there, I got up early enough to go to breakfast. I arrived to discover that the waffle batter dispenser was empty. The desk clerk returned and I asked her if she could fill it. She said no, and said, "It's 9:30 already." As she said that, she showed me her phone, which had large numbers that said "9:21". She could have nicely said, "I'm sorry, but I'm not able to refill that for you," or something to that effect, but instead she wasn't very nice about it at all.
Overall a disappointment.
