Avoid unless you like buying your own toilet paper
There are many good things to be said about this inn. The location, in a very quiet old Cotswolds village is superb. The inn itself is old but recently redone in a nice way. The room and beds are comfortable, the burger served at dinner was the best we've ever tasted.
But sadly there were some flaws that offset all of the above.
- We were staying for three nights and had only breakfast once. The other two mornings the pub was closed, there was nobody available at the premises, we were completely on our own. We were not notified of this. In fact, after our first day we haven't seen anobody for two whole days.
- Consequently, our rooms were not cleaned either. We even ran out of toilet paper and had to buy it ourselves.
- Last but not least, when we came home we discovered that we have paid twice: upon arrival we were asked to pay the full amount in advance but it seems that our credit card was also charged for the full amount (when booking we were thinking that we were only making a reservation).
The Cotswolds were lovely though.
