Amazing hotel grounds, it's like staying in a jungle. Cute agoutis (local rodents) running around.
At the time of our visit it had the best beach among the neighbouring resorts. All the other hotels had ugly sandbags everywhere to prevent the sand erosion.
The resort has 2 other properties in Playa del Carmen, there are free shuttles all day long, definitely worth a visit, altough the beach is not as nice (many small boats spoil the view).
This hotel is in a very secure gated district with restricted access, altough the beach vendors selling crappy sunglasses and vapes somehow can get in...
There are some convenience shops a few minutes walk away.
If you are into jogging, the main road around the whole gated area is 5.7km/3.5mi long.
Rooms are serviced each day with fresh towels, beds are made, mini bar refilled. (Top tip: if you want extra beers, leave a note with a few $)
The buffet meals were variable enough during our 10 days, never had the feeling that we're eating the same foods.
We booked all inclusive premium so we could swap our buffet dinner to the other 2 restaurants on site. One is Mexican local cuisine, the other is Italian.
We had some rainy days, you can get a free umbrella from the reception desk.
Another tip: before breakfast reserve some sunbeds by putting down your towels, otherwise they could be gone by the time you want to go to the beach.
