We found this area (between Portrush and Portstewart) quite limited in dog-friendly stays, so Inn on the Coast was a fantastic surprise. Although a 3-star hotel, it felt like much moreโmodern, spotless, and very comfortable. Rooms are spacious with crisp white linen, daily cleaning, and fresh towels if needed.
Thereโs a dedicated pet-friendly corridor with direct access from the car park, and each room had clean, nicely presented dog bowls on a wooden standโa thoughtful touch. On our first night, we heard barking from other rooms in the hallway and feared a noisy sleep, but the room was impressively soundproof!
We didnโt leave our dogs alone, but itโs allowed. The restaurant offers a warm, home-cooked style menu, a dog menu (sausages, beef patty, chicken breast), and truly excellent service. Breakfast was also great, with a full Irish fry, cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, and friendly staff once again. Dogs are welcome in designated areas.
Despite a 4pm check-in, we arrived early off the ferry, and staff were very accommodatingโletting us work in the lobby and preparing our room early.
Beautiful coastal walks made our stay even better. Weโll definitely be back!
