It has a good location close to the dunes that is affordable. It’s a good place if you are just staying for the night.

Overall great, very cozy with beautiful sunset views. It had everything we needed for a stay in fort garland, my only complaint was that the tiny fridge in the room I got never got cold enough to keep anything cold so bring an ice chest for your perishables.

This is a gem of a mom and pop hotel. Def no frills, but the shower was hot, the pillows and mattresses were comfortable and the coffee was plentiful. This place is like a well mom and pop from 40 years ago, but open today and properly managed. The man at the desk was also the owner. We’ll be back!

Vernon and April were helpful and the room was nice. Rocking chair in room was really comfy. Hot water from fixtures was immediate. Temp outside was in the 20's inside the room was toasty.

We got there about 730pm it was dark and rang the doorbell and waited awhile then the owner came. He was very nice. The room was dated but clean and decorated cute. There was plenty of hot water for the 3 of us. There are no amenities and you could not adjust the temp of your room and could hear outside clearly was the only downfall but for 1 night stay passing thru it was fine. There was not many other choices in such a small town.

The stay was great. Have been staying at the Lodge Motel for years. However, this year I had to make a reservation online instead of by phone as I have in the past. So, in trying to make a reservation directly with the lodge motel I was misled to believe the Hotels.com was the correct reservation procedure and was transferred to their website. Come to find out that that was incorrect. I was told by the Lodge Motel Manager that I could have made the reservation directly with them and he showed me how. Ok, so I ended up booking with hotels.com. During the booking procedure I was not allowed to use my military discount that I have been afforded for years at the Lodge Motel. Being retired military, every little discount helps. I am extremely unhappy with Hotels.com and do not plan to use them in the future.

6/10 Good

Wow…a little rough. There was no one working the front office so a dry erase board had our last name and room number on it. “Key in room” on the door. So much for personal security! The TV wasn’t working, so I had to call the number on the front door until someone finally answered. Cable box had to be “reset”. The room smelled like smoke and the walls are VERY thin. We heard the conversations of the people in the next room and was woken up by the barking dog from across the wall. I would recommend going to Alamosa!
