'We booked the Spice Palace Hotel but were transfered to a sister hotel (Antonio Garden Hotel). We could still book the exact same room in Spice Palace hotel, which is super strange.
We booked diner together and received voucher for it. You could pick any main dish, but all the dishes with meat were suddenly not available. After some push, one of the cheaper ones was available..
Based on above experience, I would not recommend this hotel.'

There was some problems with the shower door and safe but the staff quickly moved us to another room.
Breakfast and room service were very good.
The shower has excellent strong water pressure and air cons work very well.
You have to get a taxi into the centre of stone town which will cost you USD15 each way, but it is worth for the convenience of being away from the hustle and bustle - it was peaceful. '

'Incredibly historic building with unique individually decorated rooms! Perfect location for walking around Stonetown. Delicious breakfast served on rooftop! Request Belle room if you don't want a lot of stairs. It has a huge balcony along the front of the building so it's fun to see tourists stop and take photos!'

'I really enjoyed my stay here at The Emerson Spice Hotel. The rooms are clean and decorated nicely keeping the old feel of this historic building. I liked the old fashioned door style of the Camile Room. Which doesn’t use keycards like most hotels. You use a huge big padlock 🔐 to secure the door. All the staff were very nice and friendly. The only thing you need to be aware of is there is no elevator. All stairs only, so be prepared to get some stair exercises during your stay. LOL! 😃 '

Perfect spot to nap on and off to get through the jet lag and be right in the heart of stone town. Extremely walkable to sites. The rooms are spacious, excellent shower and super comfy bed. Very clean and was just what I was looking for.

'Personnel accueillant et serviable du début à la fin (j’ai fait une nuit)je m’y suis senti bien et en sécurité à l’intérieur. On ne peut pas y accéder par voiture il faut marcher un tout petit peu. La chambre était propre il n’y avait pas de saleté ni de bêtes. Le personnel repasse dans la chambre l’après midi pour remettre un coup d’anti moustique. Petit dej ok avec fruits omelette et qques specialites. J’ai pas testé la piscine. J’y retournerai sûrement. '

'The staff tried to scam us for breakfast. The receptionist that checked us in was nice and friendly. The men that cleaned did a good job, but be aware of other staff, as they will mock you and speak badly of you right in front of your face, very disrespectful. Het culturele Stone Town is geliefd om zijn restaurants en livemuziek. Ga tijdens je bezoek daarnaast zeker langs bij trekpleisters zoals Slavenmarkt en Oude Fort.
Wil je lekker gaan sightseeën? Ga dan bijvoorbeeld naar Slavenmarkt, een van de monumenten in Stone Town. Maak een wandeling langs de stranden en bewonder de zonsondergang. Loop hier een namiddagje rond en ga langs bij de vele geweldige winkels en restaurants.
Als je aan je kleurtje wilt werken, is een bezoek aan Strand van Shangani, op 1,5 km van de binnenstad van Zanzibar Town, een goed idee. Geniet van de zonsondergang aan zee bij Nakupenda-strand.
Als je wel wat rust kunt gebruiken en graag tussen de bloemen en het groen zit, kun je in Stone Town bij Forodhani-tuinen heerlijk ontspannen. Maak een wandeling langs de stranden en bewonder de zonsondergang. Loop hier een namiddagje rond en ga langs bij de vele geweldige winkels en restaurants. Als je de benen nog wat meer wilt strekken, liggen Chapwani Island en Gevangeniseiland allebei dichtbij.
Leer over de geschiedenis van Zanzibar Town wanneer je een bezoek brengt aan Oude Fort. Verken prachtige stranden met een wandeling of geniet lekker van de geweldige restaurants.
Ontdek het havengebied van Zanzibar Town met een uitstapje naar Zanzibar Ferry Terminal. Breng een bezoekje aan de winkels of maak een wandeling langs prachtige stranden in dit gebied.
