Nice beachfront resort but didn’t feel like 5 star
Very busy modern beachfront resort, friendly staff, but wasn’t a 5 star experience.
Location quite central close to pantai cenang, walkable to different restaurants, but the area next to the hotel was a bit run down. Our first room had city view but that view was very sad, there were a lot of deserted houses. Also lot of construction going on quite close to hotel.
Check-in area was not air conditioned, poor staff standing in the heat all day. Also no seated check in but regular counters, wasn’t a deal breaker but not very 5 star. First room smelled of cigarettes, so we asked for a different room. Staff was very accommodating and gave us an other room with atrium view, which smelled a lot nicer. But we found out later that the switch for the bathroom light wasn’t working, so the lights could not be turned off. Because of the glass wall of the shower, light came through to the sleeping area. It was quite late and we didn’t want to change rooms again, so yeah we just slept with the lights on. No big deal, but not a 5 star experience. Breakfast was nice, had a lot of choices, service was excellent. Gym was nice, pools were nice, great for kids. Very busy hotel so not that romantic for couples, better for families with children.
