We had a luxury hotel experience here, with excellent meals and great amenities. I have 2 remarks though. Firstly, the level of English of some of the reception staff was a bit lacking, which made it difficult to communicate with them. Secondly, when checking in, a R$400 charge was taken from my credit card as a safety. In itself that's understandable, but upon checking out, instead of deducting this from the amount that was due, I had to pay the full amount due on top of this, with the promise that the R$400 would be returned to me shortly. After 4 days I still had not received a refund of this safety charge, and I had to physically go to the hotel with my card to get it back. Luckily I was still in town. I wonder if I would have gotten my money back if I had not been.
