Bad experience
- before arrival we tried to contact the hotel several times, but emails were not responded to and the only available phone number was not answered or disconnected;
- upon arrival, we were not expected. There was no-one to meet us at the boat;
- we had to search for someone in the hotel - it seemed completely deserted;
- once we had our luggage brought to the hotel it was unclear who we were and what we booked, and that did not change at least until the next morning;
- we were promised a room with a window, but that was not possible;
- sheets and towels were worn and full of holes;
- there were damp patches on the walls;
- there were no other guests and it seemed that this has been the case for some time, possibly months; one boy whispered that "things" have happened, which caused this situation and that he would tell us more about this later (if possible);
- several men (locals) were just hanging around and staring at us; quite unpleasant as they did not seem to contribute to any service of the hotel;
- after one night we decided to check out, even though we paid 12 nights in advance;
- we were urged to explain this (on the phone) to the manager, who spoke to us in a rude manner and even hang up on us while we were still talking; very rude and unprofessional;
- we filed a complaint 2 weeks ago with Expedia, who responded immediately and (as could be expected) professionally; a refund however partly relies on the response of the hotel and they still don't respond.
