This place looks like a nice hotel on the website, but is just a bed & breakfast! The owners live in England and leave the management to a lady who talks all the time, but is nowhere to find if you need her and is not even in the house between 10 p.m. and the next morning, so at night you are all alone in the middle of nowhere, 30 minutes from Stellenbosch. All you get is a mobile number you can call in case of emergency! This does not feel safe at all, despite the huge electrical fence around the grounds, that gives it a bit of a concentration camp feel. The rooms are nicely decorated, but the beds are hard and very small. There was no door in my bathroom/ toilet, not very nice! During the night, mice were running on the ceiling and keeping me awake. They have no dining room or breakfast room, so you have to sit with all the other guests at al long table to have breakfast. I would have liked to know this, before I made the decision to book a room here. There is nothing to eat during the day, although they say they have room-service. Breakfast was awful, some buns and jams with flies all over. No freshly baked bread. Everything was very amateurish. There are two big dogs walking in the house. I like dogs, but if people are allergic for dogs or afraid, this is not nice at all. There is no airconditioning, so it gets hot in summer! The garden is not well maintained. You hear the noise from the motorway to Cape Town when you are outside. My advice: look for some place elsewhere!
