This year was the third time in 4 years I stayed at the Horizon Blu. In most of the reviews about the Horizon Blu you can see all the reasons I came back often.
I must admit though, that this year I was a bit less satisfied with the venue and its services.
Firstly, I asked for a room with a mountain view. I checked 2 days in advance by phone to re-confirm and this was not a problem. It turned out we got a garden view room instead. It wasn't a huge deal, so I let it go.
I also had a bit of an issue with their water bottle 'policy'. During my previous stays bottles of water were complimentary, both at the beach and the pool. Now they charged us Eur.2 per bottle. To compare: go to any restaurant and as soon as you sit at a table, they give you a bottle of water to start with. I find it rather cheap, that if I stay at a 5 star venue, they charge us 2 euros per bottle (unless you order coffee to go, then they give you 0,5L bottle)
Lastly, the staff, particularly at the beach area, could be a little bit more pro-active. All they do is sit under a staircase, smoke cigarettes and look at their mobile phones. The least they could do is check every now and then to see if customers need anything. If a ticket needs to be signed afterwards, they will come and see you then. But dirty plates and glasses they then leave again.
Horizon Blu was a venue I came back to because not only the venue is stunning, the ppl and service went the extra mile for you.Now I am not sure I'll come back
