Comfortable capsule hotel with nice accommodations
I've stayed at this capsule hotel for 6 nights. My experience, unfortunately, did not start well. I was given a wrong room (top instead of bottom) and I had to move all my stuff before my first night. Since I was staying for a while I had moved a lot of my stuff from my baggage to the locker room which was unfortunate. The staff was apologetic and the manager helped move some of my stuff, so in the end, all was well. The hotel itself takes some getting used to, you need to check out every day before 12PM and can't go back to your room before 3PM because of cleaning. The shower room is shared and you need to leave your baggage near the staff. You get provided with clean pajama's every day and you have to wear them if you want to go to the restaurant or showers. They have clean razors, toothbrushes, hair sprays etc. You should bring your own toothpaste, comb and deodorant.
The room itself has a comfortable bed, TV with Japanese channels and on-demand movies. You get provided with a small bottle of water, earbuds and earplugs every day. There's a single wall-jack for charging your stuff (buy a 3-plug adapter from a 100yen store if you need more plugs). The location is nice, there are a lot of tourists around the morning to afternoon since it's in a central place in Gion. The night life is nice, Pontocho Alley is right around the corner if you need a drink. The train station (Gion-Shijo station) is very nearby, about 7 minutes away. I'm not sure about the nearest JR station..
