This was by far the worst hotel experience we ever had in our lives. When we made our booking far in advance, we requested a hotel room away from families with children. When we went to our room, we were surprised it was located right next to the swimming pool where tons of children were playing and screaming. When we went back to ask for a different room, the counter staff just told us: "No, not possible". We were so shocked by the unprofessional answer, that we accepted it for now. When we went back to our room, we realised we made a mistake. The room was disgusting, see photos. Kids and other guests were running and screaming through the hallway until after midnight. We heard the guest next to our room snoring through the thin wall. We heard the guests on the other side of us taking a bath. There were stains in the the bedding and there was no hot water. This is seriously unacceptable for any hotel, but especially for a hotel with 4,5 stars! The next morning we insisted on speaking to the hotel manager. The hotel manager took our complaints serious and offered us to stay in a suite in the new part of the hotel. As there are no other options in Kota Bharu, we accepted his offer to change rooms in the afternoon. The suite was quiet. However, although not on the level of a 4,5 star hotel. We appreciate the hotel manager's effort to repair our experience, but please be think twice before you book this hotel.
