Very upset with the way hotel treats its guests
Cambodian host arranged a car to take us to the Essence. He called it for precise location. Not knowing Cambodian,we wondered why this call took so long. After 2 nights at the Essence we know: workers are unknowledgeable and rude!
Upon arrival we were told to pay a cash deposit. They refused our credit card.Written policy clearly showed that credit card guarantee was a standard...The fact that staff spoke such a bad English didn’t contribute to the conversation. Our rooms as well as building lack any appeal. In 1 bathroom there were glass splinters on the floor.
We wanted to dine out and kindly asked desk to call a restaurant. We were told they would only do so after we’d agreed to pay for it (within PP!). How ridiculous this is?! Breakfast room heavily smelled after chloride and selection was mainly Asian orientated.Food counter was in front of sunny windows …
During last night in PP our daughter got brutally robbed of her bag in which a.o. was her room key.It happened in front of the restaurant.Cambodian owner comforted us and felt awful about the event. He called the hotel to inform them about robbed key card and asked them to change the entrance code.Upon return at the hotel we asked for a new key and were told we had to pay USD 10 for it.How rude, unthoughtful this is?! We demanded to speak to the manager. It took them a while before they made the call.Manager didn’t bother to speak to us; instructed his staff to issue a new one.No interest at all in what had happened to us.
