Great location at the base of the falls in the local’s area away from all the tour buses. Beautiful views and great proximity to explore the main falls before and after the crowds from town. Very simple accommodations- more like camping, but they did have a western style toilet. No heat or AC but we came in December when the weather was a little cooler and didn’t have a problem. Be sure to bring bug spray, though. There’s a nice restaurant next door called carpe diem that’s great for lunch but only open at that time when it’s busiest with other tourists. At night, there’s really not much else to do, so expect a very quiet, relaxed evening. We ordered the fried rice and fried pork ribs from the hotel for dinner. Both tasted good, but my husband got sick from the ribs. I’d be careful what you order since it’s more remote, if your stomach isn’t used to that kind of food. Most of the staff speak limited English, but it was fine. I would try to arrange transportation in advance if you can or take a taxi from Luang Prabang instead of the airport. We took a taxi from the airport directly and paid about 3.5x the typical rate. Overall, a nice stay, a very local experience, but if I had it to do over, I might prefer to stay in town and take a half day trip out to the falls to maximize my time since we only had a couple of days total in Luang Prabang
