'Lovely hotel, currently undergoing refurbishment. But no impact on experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of nice touches in the room. I have already recommended it to several people and I will certainly return.
We were a family of 5 and the kids also remarked on how impressive it was, they enjoyed playing tennis and having a swim after dinner. Food was wonderful with an excellent choice, we enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast. *Highly recommend *'

'We had a lovely one night stay. We were warmly greeted and our room was spacious, up quite a few stairs so beware if you have heavy cases. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the hot tub. A well equipped gym was also available. The pool was very clean and a pleasant temperature. These facilities were all included in the room price but there is a limited timetable when you can use the pool due to lesson and member sessions.
We ate dinner at the hotel which was very tasty and well presented....

It isn’t anything flash but if you’re looking for quaint and original then this is perfect. It is an older house so has the creaky floor boards and matching decor.
Bathroom is clean and newer. Slices were provided on arrival and a beautiful English breakfast included the next morning.
Was able to go for walk down to the nearby lake and take in the surrounding beauty. Would be a great place to base yourself for exploring the lakes district...

'Such a great room, especially with a dog. We had a door straight out in to a lsmall beer garden. Absolutely huge shower & extra large room were great too. Extremely good value room & very quiet. We also ate there on the evening & food was really good, all home made & a cheesecake to die for. We were doing a charity walk nearby at Buttermere on the Sat so it was perfectly positioned for us. Thanks again.'

Its like entering a once verry nice house. But the moment you enter the room it smells duff and diguisting.
The rooms are weird when you enter you immidiatly go down a bunch of stairs.
The bathroom looks like it hasnt been cleaned in centuries and the tiles of the floor are lose.
My bed had a blood stain from someone on the blanket witch was disguisting.
Dont recommend staying here unless you absolutely have to!!!

"Niet te doen. Wat een oude zooi. Wel een ruime kamer en goed bed maar eigenlijk alles verder is slecht. Heel warm, bedompt en niet fris. En vooral heel heel heel veel lawaai vanaf de straat. Niet boeken tenzij je zelf graag tot laat op stap gaat. Wij dachten lekker in het centrum op loopafstand van de stad, maar dat viel dus tegen. Hadden beter naar de recensies moeten kijken. Ontbijt was ook niet best, weinig keuze en vieze warme ‘kantine’. Snel vergeten, is het geld niet waard. Receptioniste bij check in was de enige positieve noot. "
