Don't be fooled by the good ratings. This hotel is terrible. The bathtub faucet was broken. When maintenance arrived, they didn't fix it. I was OK with that at first, but there was no shampoo or enough soap. The bed blankets for the queen sofa bed were missing. The floor rug was filthy. The room felt old and antiquated. They did not clean the room, even though I explicitly requested cleaning. There is not enough staff in the restaurant. On the second night, I complained and asked for a room change. The lady agreed and offered compensation for the parking fee (?). The next morning, this other lady in the lobby was unaware of my situation... She asked me to carry all my luggage out first, check out, and then check in again in the new room. She did not mention any compensation at all.
I took my luggage out of the room, checked out, and never came back.
Don't look to stay at the heart of San Antonio. Instead, look for the outer hotels. The farther away from the center, the better the price/quality. Be warned and STAY AWAY from Riverwalk Plaza!
