My first stay at a Marriott, I believe…
The hotel is new and looks great. Room was light, luxurious and did, as promised, give a seaview, although is was from (very) afar. The location isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. Light sleepers; be warned! Traffic noise is an issue. Maybe better to have a room on the other side of the buidling or (really) high up.
There’s quite a few things that don’t match with the higher than average prices of the hotel though. Once my room hadn’t been cleaned (no big deal but I’d expect more from a hotel that charges 200-300 a night). My badge had to be changed 3 times during my stay. Once again no worries; the staff appologized and fixed the issue every time. The breakfast is where the hotel really falls short. A coffee machine where guests stay in line to get their own coffee? Pastries were stale. Juices were lukewarm. Buffet got refilled way to slow. Eggs were ‘sold out’ two days in a row. Booking.coms definition of a ‘great breakfast’ isn’t what it used to be.
