I like that it’s private & has big golf fields. But they need to update all rooms. The nice rooms they don’t give to Expedia guest I don’t know why they post it. Beds are hard & mattress stains, ugly colors in room , water shower comes out very slow, everything is old but clean. Good people working there. Entrance to place is dirt needs also to be update.

Hotel was reasonable, I was disappointed with the location as it lacked easy access to the beach and hotel corridor. I wrongly assumed you could cut across the golf course but found only locked gates. This property would be best suited to guests with a car or bicycle.

You get what you pay for and we didn't really expect it to be a luxury resort. The bed was as hard as the concrete slab upon which the mattress sat. It was minimally supplied and the sliding glass doors neither opened nor closed all the way. They were just taped together and the tape was so old that it was dried out and had holes in it. We ate at the restaurant from breakfast and it was quite good.

Manager ruins the place.
A lovely place with lovely staff that definitely needs a new manager. First we were repeatedly questioned about our booking through hotels.com even though I could literally see him holding the confirmation printout in hand. Then we find we were not given the room we booked. We booked a queen with 2 sofa beds. Instead we were given a 2-bed room On the day of checkout, from well before the end of breakfast, he was trying to rush us out. This happened multiple times even as we had checked out and were eating lunch. It was as though he didn't want English speaking guests there because every other party was of at least 6 people and clearly local. This shouldn't have been necessary, as we paid just like everyone else even though we are a couple with only one son. Lovely place but that manager ruined our stay.

The Canadian is an older hotel inside a golf course. There is no doubt that at some point this was a gorgeous resort, however, it has past it's prime and it's in need of urgent restauration. There are several issues one must consider before deciding to be a guest here. First, there is no car rental facilities or taxi service provided on the grounds. Second, the reception informed me that I could not have guests visit me on the premises, so don't even think about having friends check out the grounds even though they might be considering staying there next time they stay in Nuevo Vallarta. Third, the rooms are old and in need of renovation, but it's undestandible, since no one would like to stay in an old hotel with no car/taxi service and strict guest policies.

Stay away!
Hotels.com should not offer this hotel. It was under renovation. The swimming pool was empty (and looked like it had been for months). There was no bar or restaurant (nowhere to get food). The hotel was not expecting us. It was practically empty (maybe two other rooms occupied). The setting (in the middle of a golf course) was beautiful, but inconvenient without your own car. I recommend you stay away.

I didn't have a car
I hiked across the golf course for 10 minutes to get to the highway to get a bus. You have to flag the ATM bus down. Groceries were a 25 min. hike to Mega market. There is Oxxo across the highway. The bus stops in front to go to Bucerias, a 5 min. ride for 8 pesos. It's a resort and is beautiful with cocodrilo and tropical birds. It's a 40 min. bus ride on ATM to get to Puerto Vallarta

A very pretty area with a multitude of birds. Unfortunately our one night visit was marred by no drinking water supplied, no coffee pot and even more unfortunate no hot water to shower in the morning

not what it was advertise
The "resort " was empty, we got a two queen beds, when i requested a queen and 2 twins, well... the twins are sofas that are build in with a 4 inch cushion. Bar closed. Restaurant closed. no gift shop. and i had to bring my own toilet paper. It is a nice place. but personal and the way this is manage is bad. To go anywhere you need a taxi. Even to the beach. Also the address is incorrect. and this place goes by 2 names, Canadian resort and La Querencia which is more popular.

Lovely hotel surrounded by a golf course
My wife and I spent 8 days at Canadian Resorts Hotel. The resort is surrounded by woods and a golf course. There is lots of wildlife, including birds, iguanos, turtles and crocodiles (at least 2 were in the adjacent lagoon). It's great place to practice your Spanish, as the staff didn't seem to know much English. Locate on the north side of Bahia Banderas, it's centrally located between PT Vallarta, Bucerias and Punta Mita.

Bird watchers paradise in isolated location.
The resort is beautifully maintained. The pool is warm and clean. Room with kitchen was spacious. Enjoyed the tropical birds, iguanas and crocodile outside our patio by pond. The only drawback is the resort is within a golf course away from restaurants and stores. We had to walk 20 minutes to reach the bus stop or call a taxi. Good location if you have a car. There is a bar and restaurant but staff didn't act inviting to serve us. There were few people at this resort so you can have the pool to yourself.
