Handara Golf & Resort Bali

Handara Golf & Resort Bali (formerly Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club) is Bali’s only golf resort up in the island’s cool central highlands. When it opened in the '70s, it was Bali's first course.

What this course lacks in sea views, as offered by most of the ocean-facing and cliff-top golf courses in Bali’s coastal resort areas, Handara Golf makes up for with its great combination of flowing bentgrass greens backed by lush shrubbery, tropical gardens and mountain panoramas. These come together with the cool mountain air that allows for pleasant rounds of golfing throughout the 18-hole course.

The Peter Thompson and Graham Wolveridge-designed, par-72 championship layout of the course offers a good challenge for all levels of golfers, with a slope rating of 128-139 – in other words, ‘standard to difficult’. ‘Stay and play’ packages are available thanks to its onsite accommodation options, ranging from golf-view bungalows and villas as well as garden-view cottages and suites.

There’s also Kamandalu Restaurant, serving a mix of local and international cuisine, and a bar and sunset lounge on the grounds, both of which are great spots for relaxing and recalling your day out on the greens. You can go to the driving range for some swinging practice with hourly rates, or opt for an on-course 18-hole playing lesson. Full equipment and golf shoe rentals are available from the clubhouse. And when you’re not out for a whole day on the course, you can choose to have a game of tennis at Caldera Valley Tennis Course nearby.
