We booked this hotel to make a stop on our way from New Orleans to Orlando.
Checking in was good and the staff was friendly and polite.
Room was ok.
In the beginning of the night there was a bad smell in the room, caused by ??? we didn't know at that time.
At 01.00 hr. my wife woke me up telling me that she was sick from a very very bad smell in the room (she thought it was a dead animal).
At approx. 02.00 when we were both feeling sick, we went downstairs to the reception and asked the nightporter what the problem could be and that we were feeling bad and couldn't sleep anymore.
The only thing he said was that everybody was complaining and that it was normal in that neighbourhood where he was living for a long time and therefore got used to it, this smell was caused by a milling industry.
In the morning when we did the check out there was a very friendly lady at the desk and listened to our experience during the night.
She new about the smell but was suprised that the nightporter didn’t do anything about it, normally they will spray with breeze to eliminate the smell ?!
The hotelmanager wasn’t there at that moment, so she made a note that we had a very bad experience so we should probably don’t have to pay for this night.
This message was also noticed on the desk, “if you are not satisfied you don’t have to pay !”
