We had booked a superiour double, but upon arrival we were upgraded to an executive room which was very spacious and had a small sitting area. The bed was very comfortable and had a proper duvet; the shower was great, except that the door to the shower cabin was not sealed off properly so some water would get on the floor. AC worked well. Perhaps the only minor downside was that there is a bit of noise from the street, but it didn't really bother us. Breakfast was okay. The neighbourhood is pleasant, and there are a couple of good cafe's and restaurants at the small square further down Rue Brunel, and near Porte Maillot.
The hotel is a bit far from the main sights, Quartier Latin, and le Marais. Metro line 1 will take you directly there, but this line is very busy, we found out, especially Friday evening 6:30pm when we arrived.
All in all we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend Villa Brunel.
