Amy Charleboix asst mgr and Lynn branscome mgr of Homewood Suites by Hilton Deerwood Park Jacksonville, FL told me there were no available rooms when I asked to have my room changed because the bathroom toilet didn’t flush, the toilet was filthy and the bathtub appeared to have been unclean. I have my 3 yr old and 1 yr. old grandsons with me and we literally just arrived after a 9.5 hr drive from Virginia. Lynn branscome General mgr. also told me that she has been in this business for 23 yrs and there are no available rooms. Lynn also told me that If I wanted to check out I could, so I did. When I came down after packing up and getting the two grand kids together; as the grands and I were approaching the front desk Amy saw me and she said to the general mgr., Lynn, and Mike the individual whom checked me in “is that her?” I replied “yes, im her, but none of them replied.
Amy did apologize for the matter as she gave me my receipt with a zero balance. She also asked me if the toilet in my room 222 was fixed and I replied “the worker who was attempting to fix the toilet in the room was just here you should have asked him if the toilet was fixed; and the worker should have reported back to you right away since this was a time sensitive matter. The worker did assist me on the elevator and appeared at the counter as I was checking out with Amy, but Amy never asked the maintenance worker if the toilet was fixed.
I felt discriminated against since the hotel was not sold out.
