I had previously stopped here prior to covid lockdown and the hotel was ok ,now is a different story to which i wont be staying again .The two gentlemen on the front desk need to buy an iron (no uniform worn by by either). The key card was a very old card with the name virtually rubbed off (no card holder)then my room number written with a white board marker so by the time i got to my room i had rubbed part of the number off .On entry to the room i was greeted with a line of stains on the carpet . The bedroom was a double with a queen size bed .The mattress was very old and possibly never been change for years ,turned as either side of the middle had been used numerous times with the middle never been used ( very lumpy mattress). On asking if food was being served i was told they now don`t do food but if i wanted bottle beer they would serve me. The breakfast would be continental now ,Which after a long day wasn`t what i wanted to hear. On the plus side I did manage to find a pub (The house in the Tree) 2 miles away that did beautiful food and draft lager welcomed me in with open arms . I would highly recommend The House in the Tree but not this hotel

Arrived and manager could not find booking,but gave us a room and said he would sirt it later.Room was nice and large with king size bed which was very comfortable. Everything we needed was in the room.Had a good night sleep went down for breakfast,had to find things for ourselves, it was quite dark as no lights on.A member of staff eventually turned up,took our order.Took about 20mins for my breakfast to come,with some of it cold,wifes meal came out just as i was finishing mine.Staff were friendly and overall it was a good stay.Will stay there again.

have returned home today (25/7/21) after spending last night in room 202 at your hotel, at a cost of £65. This is the second time we have stayed in your hotel and to say we are disappointed is an understatement. Here is where it went wrong… 1, we had to search for a member of staff to check in despite calling both numbers displayed on reception and getting no answer. 2, on being shown our room we were alarmed to hear a kitchen extraction unit just outside the window .. after discussing our concerns about the noise with reception, we were assured it would be turned off at 9.30pm and we would not hear it again… sadly it woke us at 6.30am on Sunday morning. 3, the towels, we had a set for one.. a bath mat, a hand towel and a bath towel (there were two staying in the room) we discovered this after one of us had showered this morning and ended up sharing as we were not hopeful we would find anyone to help us. 4, on returning to the hotel after our evening out our key was not working, once again despite calling both numbers displayed on reception we had to go searching for a member of staff to re program the key. 5. We looked in the room for an extra pillow and only found an empty pillow bag… we really couldn’t be bothered to come and search for someone to provide us with one after previous searches for a member of staff.. We would have discussed all of these points when we left the hotel this morning but sadly, you guessed it, we couldn’t find anyone to talk to….

When we arrived there seemed to be some issue with our reservation which required 4 members of staff to crowd behind the reception and mutter to each other whilst completely ignoring us… There was also a sign that said the air con was broken (on the hottest week of the year) and sorry for the inconvenience. Finally got to our room after what seemed like lots of uncertainty and there was no fan in the room in lieu of air con, only one towel between us and no bottles of water. The phone in the room didn’t seem to have an easy option to call reception and at 10 o’clock at night we thought we’d just deal with it. We were then left with a choice of opening the window and having significant traffic noice or closing it and boiling to death! Just as we started to get used to the traffic noise (it really was too hot to sleep with the window closed) someone started playing really really loud Indian Dance music at 1am… it sounded almost like it was coming from reception. When that finally stopped, someone started banging around and doing some DIY or something next door! (The walls are so thin you can hear someone snoring from 2 rooms away). I don’t think I actually managed to sleep until about 3:30am which almost ruined the wedding that we’d stayed overnight to attend at another venue the next day. We wished to talk to someone when we checked out but no one was on reception nor anywhere else to be seen. Definitely don’t stay if you want a good nights sleep.

Well what can I say, poor it’s putting it mildly. On a day when the temperatures were 30degC - the air con was out of action. The shower was either scalding or freezing, had to resort to a bath. Fridge didn’t work and whole place was run down and outdated. Restaurant closed. If it wasn’t for the fact that it was getting late and driven for 3 hours I’d have changed hotels. Live n learn…

No staff at front desk. Very run down, paper thin walls so very noisy. Large pot hole at entrance that causes car damages. Sign post has hotel under another name.

Travelled down from Scotland to spend the weekend with my boys, found this hotel online it’s on the outskirts of Cheltenham but it’s great value, lovely rooms, comfortable bed and excellent staff, initially my shower wouldn’t run cool but the lady on reception changed my room straight away I will be back
