I wanted to be able to give a 5 star review, but a couple of things prevented that. The 2 girls at the front desk at check in made me feel like I was an interruption. Also I could not find a hair dryer in the room. I mentioned this at checkout and was told it was supposed to be there, but sometimes they just "disappear" with some guests. I would think the cleaning crew might notice that after someone leaves. And while the hotel info mentions a bar in the lobby, there is no one there, just a bar. Perhaps it would be different on the weekend evenings but I was there on weeknights.
On the positive side, the room was great and the beds were super comfortable! The towels were oversized and nice and fluffy. My grandson enjoyed the fitness center and was even able to hook up his Playstation to the tv in our room. The breakfast buffet was delightful with a big selection. I was expecting a basic continental-type breakfast like muffins, yogurt, and coffee, but there was a full hot selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and on Saturday biscuits and sausage gravy, along with make your own waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruit and various cereals and juices. Everything was kept well stocked. Kudos to the kitchen crew!
Be aware this is a pet friendly hotel, so there were occasional barking dogs. Also, since it is literally right next to the Funplex, there are many young children running around.
The gentleman at check out was very pleasant and cheerful. I enjoyed our brief conversation.
