This place is a gem and an excellent value. There are many bed and breakfasts in Savannah, but not many with a lovely pool area, which is why I selected the Azalea Inn. It was fun to take a dip after strolling around in the Georgia heat.
The Inn is gorgeous and small, just a handful of rooms. If you are physically impaired in any way and you want a balcony option, be sure to ask about access to it before booking. I had to access mine through a window which meant getting on all fours and crawling through (I am not good at the limbo). Not a problem for me, but for someone with bad knees or a bad back, it could be.
The breakfasts are very filling and so tasty, so much so that I could skip lunch. And there is a happy hour with light snacks, and always made-from-scratch treats available like lemon pound cake or some type of bar. (Their chef is amazing.) And, there is a decanter of sherry with an assortment of crystal glasses in case you want a tipple any time of the day.
Loved my deep soaking tub, too. So hard to find them these days.
I was very much relieved that the Inn is not in the center of the action, more on the outskirts of the historic district, but an easy 15 minute walk to get to the thick of things. It's nice to retreat to a quiet part of town and I always felt safe walking by myself.
Also, the staff were very nice.
I will definitely be returning.
