There are many family things to do in Daejeon, including theme parks, edutainment centres, and even a hot spring catered for little ones. The Daejeon Jungang (Central) Market, which is conveniently located in front of Daejeon Station, has many attractions. There are plenty of facilities for the whole family to enjoy at Hanbat Arboretum and Daejeon O-World. 

Yuseong Foot Spa, known for being a favourite destination of King Taejong of Joseon, was developed as a hot spring resort and is accessible for the whole family.     The Daejeon National Science Museum consists of exhibit halls dedicated to various themes, like science, natural history, astronomy, and the future. You can take part in interesting education and experience programs, so check ahead on their official website. There’s no general admission fee, but some experiences require a fee. The maglev train is especially popular with visitors of all ages.

    Daejeon O-World is an amusement park that holds various seasonal festivals and events throughout the year. A flower festival takes place in spring, while its water park is open in summer. At Flower Land, you can see a diverse range of flowers and trees arranged in various ways, from rose and herbal gardens to traditional and maze gardens. The beautiful pink hairawn muhly grass at Daejeon O-World blooms in autumn, providing great photo opportunities. There’s also Zoo Land, where kids have a chance to get up close to lots of animals.

    Barefoot walks on Hwangtogil Trail at Mount Gyejok offer prime nature therapy in Deajeon. The texture of the trail surface is a favourite among children. This nature trail was established by a corporate executive who wanted to share his experience. It's now a landmark of Daejeon where festivals take place every year, except during cold winters. 

    You need around 5 to 6 hours to walk the entire 14.5-km-long trail, formed along a forest road starting at the Jang-dong Forest Park entrance.

    The enormous Hanbat Arboretum aims to be a space where people can feel at one with nature. It's quite popular with children, as they can participate in nature experiences. Various trees and seasonal flowers are on display, making Hanbat Arboretum a great place for a lovely stroll and relaxation. 

    The arboretum is close to National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and EXPO Science Park, so it's a good idea to visit these landmarks while you're there.
