Pyeongchang

Pyeongchang is a county in Gangwon Province famed for being the home of the 2018 Winter Olympics, as well as for its national parks, temples and living history museums. To get immersed in early 20th-century life here, visit the Lee Hyo-seok Culture Village, a living museum exploring the life of the early 1900s poet. The area also has several Buddhist temples, many dating from centuries ago. Among the most notable is Woljeongsa Temple, which features an octagonal pagoda that stands 9 storeys tall.
