Hotel Calaluna is amazing great service and their private beach is amazing.
basic accommodation, close to nature style. has it's own beach.
There’s no AC in the room so no way y’all can sleep in that goddamn oven🙄🙄 worse part is that they don’t state that in room details. On top of that is mad expensive!!! I paid over 90 for a night and ended sleeping in another hotel cuz that was impossible
The staff were lovely! beautiful beach and location
The noise level from street sounds was horrible in the rooms across the street from the beach and on the second story. Breakfast was amole but no variety to the menue. March is a bad time to go to a beach front unit which I liked for its funkyness but the beach was almost unswimmable because of the high winds. Also at night the eurotec dance club was loud good by sleep. Oh hot water in early morning and evening forget it.
Property was exactly as described. Was very safe and victor at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. He helped Us get a phone back that was left in our transportation from the airport And got us rides when we needed them. The Rooms were cleaned and beds made daily and grounds were beautiful. It was nice that they We’re located around restaurants/bars, convenient stores and adventure tour stands. Since they didn’t have their own restaurant/ bar the property was quieter and had less people trying to come and go. That also added to the safety because we were not worried about random people being on the property that were not Actually staying there. They had chairs for the beach and it was cleaned up each morning. I would recommend This resort to anyone planning a trip to Tulum that wanted to stay right on the beach.
A small lovely collection simple rooms right on Tulum beach . Could hear the surf and smell the salt air . The breakfast was plentiful with fruit , yogurt, sweet bread and an egg dish .
Simple, no frills, eco-conscious. I love the view and balcony area. What I didn’t like was that it’s right next to a bar where they play super loud music until almost 3am every night. I know that’s no fault of the hotel but I blame Expedia for hiding those negative comments. I googled ‘calaluna, loud music’ and several comments came up in the search but when clicking on the link for Expedia, the comments don’t even show up.
We loved our stay at Hotel Calaluna. The rooms are charming the beach is beautiful. Hector and all the staff were super friendly; you can tell they care a lot about the property and guests. It's a great place to stay right on the beach but avoid the overdone, "plastic" feeling of many nearby resorts.
The website and via hotel.com described the room as a “garden view” and located at the entrance of the hotel. Which means nothing to me as I have not been there. Our room was so loud with the street noise and music from the bars on the streets. We could not sleep! We tried ear plugs and a sound app. The beds are hard and the sheets are super thin. We found multiple little bugs in our bed (I know it’s Mexico but I have been to Mexico a dozen times and this should not happen at this sort of hotel). There is very little lighting in the rooms which I had read about but not much natural light either. After the first day of feeling exhausted I complained to the staff and asked if there were any other rooms available. He said not at my price range (the economy room) and that it would be an extra $100 upgrade. I explained that it said nowhere about the room being located off the street on the site but he refused to offer any help. The second day - my partners birthday - I got us reservations for a very nice restaurant. We got back from the beach (which was NOT private - as mentioned on the site, there were locals and random people). And we had no hot water. After trying for 20 minutes we complained and they replaced the water heater (another 30 minutes). The day we left I asked about "free airport transfer" - thinking that meant at least to the bus station. And they said that is false information and that free transport is not possible. I highly recommend staying somewhere else.
