I would not recommend this hotel and never go there again myself.
Positives: It is a good size hotel, gives a good impression upon arrival and has a massive swimming pool. The lobby area and restaurants look nice and overall the hotel has a nice vibe. There were shows every night and the waiters in the restaurants were friendly and accommodating for kids.
Negatives
1. Maintenance: we were assigned a room which was not in best shape, the shower was damaged and dirty, the couch was broken and walls were damaged (pictures attached). We had to push to get the room changed and the reception lady was clearly note happy about it. In addition to this, the swimming pool is not very clean, there are dead insects floating around.
2. Too Commercial: upon arrival a concierge member approached us and offered us a free massage as we were visiting from Europe (most visitors are American and Mexican), when it was time to get the coupon he pushed us into an information session about a loyalty program, I was clear that I don’t want to discuss any time share options and I was told it’s not that, it’s about Melia loyalty program. The information session was clearly a sales pitch for time share, being lied to by the hotel staff into a sales pitch left a bad taste overall.
In addition to this they try to sell / upsell things to you everywhere tour operators and water sports activities people walking around the hotel trying to grab you at every corner to try to sell to you. I would not recommend.
