Affectionally nicknamed “God’s Own County,” Yorkshire is the largest ceremonial county in England, boasting modern urban sprawls, medieval city centres and some of the most scenic countryside views in the nation. York, with its largely intact defensive wall and impressive Minster, is ideal for history buffs. Prefer a more modern city experience? Leeds is home to Michelin-star restaurants, stadiums and shopping experiences galore.
Head to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to explore otherworldly rock formations, moors, rolling hills and stone-built villages. During summer, Bridlington and Scarborough are popular seaside resorts.
