The best places to go shopping in Turks and Caicos may not be as renowned as its incredible beaches, but there’s quite a decent range. Some of these shopping spots that are spread across the islands are great places hunt for locally made goods, art items, clothing, handwoven baskets, jewellery, and more.
You can find most retailers on the island of Providenciales in the Grace Bay area, which is also home to a cluster of resorts, shopping plazas, and dining spots aimed at visitors. Some of the largest shopping centres in the Turks and Caicos Islands are still modestly sized and easy to explore, just across the road from each other. Learn more about these below.

Regent Village in central Grace Bay on Providenciales is within easy reach of many of the island’s resorts, dining spots, and other shopping centres like Saltmills Plaza. You’ll find a range of gift shops, clothing retailers, jewellery shops, art galleries and restaurants, all connected by the plaza’s palm-lined walkways and gardens. Top shops here include Jai’s for luxury duty-free goods and ArtProvo for the works of local artists.
One of Regent Village’s popular shops is Flavors of the Turks and Caicos (Fottac), where you can stock up on wine, pick up some bottles of the locally made Bambarra Rum, and browse for a variety of handmade candles, soaps and beach accessories.

Salt Mills Plaza is one of the main shopping centres in Grace Bay, along with nearby Regent Village. Set along the plaza’s street frontage and courtyard are a host of bright shops, cafés and art galleries. Salt Mills is also home to a shelter for rescued dogs called Potcake Place, which lets visitors come to play with the puppies or even take them out for a fun frolic on the beach.
House of Unicorn is one of the most beloved shops at Salt Mills – a friendly family-run bookshop that also sells art supplies, toys, games and souvenirs. Check out Anna’s Art Gallery and Wellington Collection for locally made jewellery, arts and crafts, or find brand-name beachwear at Blue Surf Shop.

One-stop shop for arts, crafts and souvenirs

TCI Cultural Marketplace has a few dozen vendors selling souvenirs and the works of local craftspeople and artists, plus a selection of imported goods. Found in Grace Bay next to the Beaches Turks & Caicos resort, the market has an eye-catching variety of basketry, jewellery, beachwear, Haitian metal works, tie-dyed T-shirts and works of art on display.
The marketplace is found just a minutes’ walk from the beach – handy if you've forgotten to bring your straw hat and need to pick one up before you hit the sands.

Alverna’s Craft Market is a long-running souvenir market found in Grace Bay on Providenciales island. This colourful market offers a mix of locally made and imported goods, including wood carvings, woven bags, doll crafts, conch shell jewellery, baskets, T-shirts, and local sweets.
A dozen or so vendors display their goods at the collection of tiny huts arranged around the market. Many items are from Haiti, including some of the hardwood carvings and vivid sheet metal art pieces. Alverna’s is a bit further inland from other souvenir shops, but still just 10 minutes away from the beach by foot.

The Middle Caicos Co-op in central North Caicos island is the main outlet selling a variety of locally made arts and crafts. The Co-op was set up as a non-profit organisation more than 20 years ago to promote and support the works of Turks and Caicos artisans. Here, you’ll find a selection of traditional straw basketry, model sailboat carvings, handwoven bags, jewellery, conch shell crafts, local food products and more.
The shop often hosts demonstrations and interpretive displays by local artists. If you don’t manage to make it to the main outlet, you can find their products available at other shops around Turks and Caicos, including Paradise Arts at Salt Mills Plaza and the Turks and Caicos National Museum.

Atelys is a jewellery designer store known for its innovative use of local and Dominican-sourced materials. Visitors to the Atelys shop at Caicos Cafe Plaza in Grace Bay can browse the namesake designer’s signature collection of jewellery made with Larimar, a rare stone from the Dominican Republic that's as vividly blue as the surrounding seas.

Salt Cay Salt Works
A colourful array of sea salt products

To buy Salt Cay Salt Works products at their place of production in Turks and Caicos is more of an adventure than a regular shopping trip. The tiny 6.7-sq-km island is about 130 km east of Providenciales, and reachable only by domestic flights. Salt Cay once had a thriving salt industry that lasted some 300 years before shutting down in the 1960s, but the founders of Salt Cay Salt Works saw an opportunity to revive the trade on a small scale.
They offer a mix of culinary salt products for seasoning foods and cocktails, as well as a range of bath salts and body scrubs. For those who can’t manage the trip to Salt Cay, their products are also sold at more easily accessible shops like Art Provo in Providenciales and the Turks and Caicos Museum in Grand Turk.
