Traverse City

Traverse City is among Northern Michigan’s largest cities and offers beachfront parks, museums, vineyards, microbreweries, culture and family entertainment. The large Clinch Park offers a city beach with picnic tables, restrooms, golden sand and clear waters for great swimming. Left Foot Charley and Mari Vineyards offer winery tours and tasting rooms, while the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail lets you tour many different local wineries.

Kids’ fun can be found at the Dennos Museum Center with its art exhibitions and interactive kids’ section, or East Bay Park with its children’s playground area. The Great Lakes Children’s Museum offers interactive exhibits for the entire family. The Crooked Tree Arts Center offers a wide range of art and cultural exhibits. Extreme adventures can be had at Mt. Holiday with skiing and zip lines. For some good old-fashioned fun, families can head for Pirate’s Cove Adventure Park for 36 holes of miniature golf, or Lucky Jack’s Bowling Center to throw 10 frames.
