We had to PEE in the shower…worst stay of my life.
We just checked out of the Holiday Inn across from Universal Studios and it was hands down the worst hotel experience we’ve had.
The room was listed as sleeping six. The pull-out mattress was paper thin, covered in crumbs and stains, and had no bedding. We were told we had to come get sheets ourselves, and that nothing could be done about the dirty mattress.
The toilet didn’t work most of the time. At one point in the middle of the night we had to urinate in the shower. The sink wouldn’t drain, there was mold in the shower, and what appeared to be a blood stain on the bathroom wall.
We were told someone would fix it while we were gone for the day. No one came. Two of our guests had to sleep on the couch and floor for two nights.
We’re not picky but we expected basic hygiene, beds for our family and working plumbing. We got none of that.
When we asked for a refund for at least one night, we were told we got “the room we paid for” and were offered half off one night. That’s a joke.
This stay was not just uncomfortable, it was unsanitary and degrading.
Do yourself a favor: skip this place. Holiday Inn should be ashamed.
